A Remedy for a Constitutional Crisis is an eight-hour celebratory reading of the United States Constitution. This event is free to the public and will occur in the outdoor amphitheater at Abrons Art Center on September 17, 2017 (Constitution Day) from 12pm-8pm.
During this event, the U.S. Constitution will be read in multiple languages by multiple performers. In addition to the reading, there will be breakout groups for concepts discussions on topics such as, the separation of powers, Federalism and individual rights and as well as an area for participatory writing where attendees may copy portions of the U.S. Constitution or interpret it in their own words.
Artist Rosemary Taylor is creating banners which visually interpret specific amendments. These will hang from the balconies that surround the amphitheater. Food and drink will be available throughout the day for attendees and participants alike.
